Growing Thicker, Fuller Eyebrows

Thick eyebrows are having a moment right now. Cara Delevingne, Keira Knightley, or Solange Knowles, and countless other celebs have finally decided to swear off the tweezer and embrace their more natural brow shape.

But what happens if you lost most of your brows in the early aughts due to overplucking? Is there a way to restore your brows to their former fuller glory?

Here are just a few ways to make your eyebrows appear more full, thick, and en vogue.

1. Stop Tweezing. For Real.

The first thing you need to do on the road to thicker brows is to stop tweezing your eyebrows immediately. Even if they look awkward. Even if you notice a stray hair. Your hair follicles need a chance to breathe and be left alone in order to stimulate growth.

2. Be Patient

Your eyebrows are a completely different animal than the hair that’s on your head. It’s going to take a while for them to grow back to how they were before you discovered the tweezer (or the threader or waxer). For some, not tweezing for a couple of weeks will make a noticeable difference; for others it might take over a year of not plucking.

3. Brush Your Brows Regularly

It’s said that brushing your eyebrows with a spoolie can help stimulate growth on the hair follicles and lead to quicker results. Even if it doesn’t particularly show much results on your set of brows, they’ll still look groomed—always a bonus.

4. Try a Growth Serum

Not seeing the results you’re wanting? You may want to try an eyebrow growth serum. There are plenty of eyebrow growth serums on the market nowadays, but it’s best to try one that is filled with nourishing and active ingredients that are actually going to stimulate hair growth.

5. See a Professional

Once you start to see a little bit of growth and you’d like to get tips on how to best shape them (without taking off too much), it’s always best to visit a professional who can help you along with this process delicately.
