What Are the Benefits of a Body Wrap?
When you picture a spa treatment, you likely think of someone all wrapped up in what looks like a large piece of tinfoil with a mask on their face—and maybe some slices of cucumbers on their face. While Mylar foil wraps may be the traditional type of wrap you may be familiar with, they are not the only body wrap treatment available. In fact, some "body wraps" aren't really wraps at all and are more of a decadent massage treatment. There are several different types of body wraps including algae, bust, cellulite treatment, herbal, mud/clay, paraffin, parafango, and inch-loss/body slimming.
According to the Spa Seekers website a body wrap, also known as a body cocoon or body mask, is "a spa treatment created to enhance the health and appearance of skin, and/or reduce body measurements. A nourishing oil or mineral-rich formula is applied to the spa guest’s limbs and torso before they are wrapped in cotton, mylar bandages or a plastic film. This promotes the extraction of dirt, toxins and excess water from the skin."
In addition to being a luxurious spa treatment, there are specific body wraps that are clinically proven to reduce visibility of fat deposits and cellulite as well as reduce the appearance of varicose and spider veins. Here are some additional benefits of a body wrap:
- Dramatically reduces the appearance“Orange peel” Skin.
- Slims, Firms & Tones.
- Fights Rebel Fat Deposits.
- Eliminates Toxins.
- Thermo Agents Stimulate Lymphatic System & Helps Burn Fat by Thermo-regulation.
- Induces Lipolysis and Fat Burning in layer below skin’s surface.

How Do Body Wraps Work?
You may be thinking right now, "Yeah that sounds great, but how does it actually work?" With a combination of massage and active ingredients in a body wrap treatment, some incredible results are possible.
For example, in our Bioslimming body wrap, we use both hot and cold thermo agents to ward off that annoying "orange peel" appearance on our tummies, thighs, glutes, and arms. The resulting heat and active ingredients such as essential oils, plant and algae extracts, and caffeine stimulate the draw of fluid into the capillaries and the absorption of fatty acids and subsequent transport of fat causes the “orange peel” appearance to disappear.
